Summary/Abstract |
Aspiring to serve the world as inclusive and sustainable growth is perhaps the most attractive of all the messages and intents that the 21st APEC Economic Leaders` Meeting (21st AELM) in Bali spread through its lengthy Bali Declaration. Given European Union`s incapacitation in the wake of austere policies made necessary by structural government deficits and other growth depressors, including aging, sizeable expansionary impulses that can pull the world economy out of descending trend in the short run can only come from APEC economies. Even through the united states (US) and to a lesser extent Japan are tightly social security expenditure, increase taxes and or sell assets in order to get back to a necessary fiscal balance, APEC can count on China, Southeast Asia, Republic of Korea (ROK) , and Russia as sources of stimulatory impacts on the world economy.

Summary/Abstract |
The paper tries to examine the changing contour of Sino-US relations in the context of churning in the geostrategic landscape at the time when the US is simultaneously engaged in conflict in two theaters i.e. Ukraine and West Asia. The San Francisco meeting held in November 2023 reflects a desire on the part of the US to manage its great power competition with China. On the Chinese side, the debilitating impact of tariff war with the US, its denial of advanced technology to its companies provides an ideal setting for China to seek a modus vivendi with the US. Hence this meeting has profound ramification at global and regional levels including in India.

Summary/Abstract |
The twentieth summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is to be held on Vladivostok's Russky Island on September 8-9. 2012. The technical problems of preparing for the summit, covered in detail in the Russian media, all but eclipsed the basic content of the upcoming forum in the eyes of the public: the actual state of affairs in APEC; its opportunities, challenges, and outlook; and the benefits that might accrue to Russia if she follows the right policy.
