Summary/Abstract madrassas of Pakistan are said to be the breeding ground for much of South and Central Asian militancy, but for the accusations made there is precious little know about these islamic seminaries and their students. While conceding the radical bent among the madrassas of Pakistan, and the sharp increase in theri numbers, a Islamabad scholar dissects the cause behind these phenomena and locates it-poverty.
