Summary/Abstract This article considers challenges to mastering modern and advanced types of weapons and military equipment (WME). The authors reveal contradictions between the objective need to transition to new WME mastery standards and increase the effectiveness of the combat use of WME on one hand, and the impossibility of such a transition under the existing WME mastering system on the other. Some areas for developing and improving the WME mastering system are substantiated.
