Since there is growing congruence in many areas of common interest, India's Look East policy too now has acquired a strategic dimension, driven by our own economic, strategic and defence concerns and domestic imperatives. India and Japan are acutely aware of the fact that the global centre of gravity is slowly but surely shifting to the Asia-Pacific and that this century could belong to Asia.
