| Summary/Abstract |
Based on the objective needs for economic and social development, Russia set forth the "Comprehensive Modernization Strategy", a strategy for national development in the new period taking economic development as its central task and scientific and technological innovations as the priorities. To serve the implementation of this strategy, Russia has made important adjustments in its diplomatic strategy. The main orientation is to improve relations with western countries and strengthen economic and technological cooperation with developed countries, so as to create an international environment necessary for achieving its modernization.
