Summary/Abstract |
As a regional organisation the SCO is increasingly embracing both Central and South Asia, and it will become an important platform for promoting the building of a harmonious region. New developments in the security situations of West Asia and Northeast Asia have far-reaching implications for international security dynamics. China, India and Russia should uphold multilateralism and prevail upon the United Nations to play the leading role in safeguarding peace and security. Complicated by terrorism and other non-traditional security threats, the current international security order is challenged as many old assumptions of regional orders, security thinking, planning and international security regimes are losing their relevance
