| Summary/Abstract |
This article is concerned with innovative and structural transformations of the Military-Industrial Complex (MIC) of the PRC and their connection with the process of civil-military integration aimed at creating an innovative system of science and technology in the country, combining military and civilian resources to increase the capacity of the MIC to produce high-tech weapons and next generation military equipment, and at the same time, bring innovative changes to the civilian sector of the economy. In the author's view, there is a trend to increase R&D funding in the PRC, as well as to take measures to use artificial intelligence to achieve the designated goals.

The article outlines the main trends of the PRC military policy, including modernization of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA), the new military reform, the role of the army in ensuring political stability in the country, and China's participation in international forums on security and cooperation, as well as in peacekeeping operations under the UN aegis. It also analyzes the role of military policy in increasing the comprehensive might of the state.

| Summary/Abstract |
This article examines the main spheres of scientific and technological cooperation between Russia and China in the early 21st century and its significance for innovative development. It notes the comprehensive character and variety of forms of this cooperation, which the author believes should be dominated by basic science. Among outstanding problems the author singles out differences in the views on the role of science in partner countries, unsatisfactory results of the Russian Academy of Sciences reform in 2013-2016, and insufficient financing of Russian science.
