Summary/Abstract The Srhi Lankan Tamil diaspora was considered by the former Sri Lankan Presedent J. R. Jayawardane as the world's most powerful minority. Among them, the diaspora in the UK is regarded as the most politically active and influencial. A recent field visit undertaken in London to study the role of Sri Lankan Takil diaspora in the Sri Lankan ethnic crisis, has provided amazing insights into many of the issues concerning diaspora politics and highlighted the importance they attach to India in their search for a just solution to the Tamil question.
