Summary/Abstract |
The content of the new Asian doctrine of US President Donald Tramp and his plans to form a "Quad" is the first step toward creating a new type of military bloc for Asia in order to contain China. This topic is highly relevant because of the changing situation in the wider region where Russia has its own major economic and geostrategic interests. The plans to form the Quad directly threaten the marginalization of ASEAN and the end of the Association's leading role in resolving regional issues.

Summary/Abstract |
The year 2018 marked the passage of fifty years since the general offensive of the armed forces of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam on the eve of the New Year holiday Tet, which changed the course of events in the Vietnam War. Numerous mass media publications were devoted to the event. This author argues with a number of American scholars on the nature and consequences of that offensive, emphasizing that U.S. crimes can in no way be justified and that their actions cannot be considered equal to those of the Vietnamese fighters who were forced, arms in hand, to defend the freedom, independence, and unity of their country from U.S. intervention.

Summary/Abstract |
ASEAN, the association of ten nations of Southeast Asia, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The world academic community strongly believes that ASEAN is one of the few successful regional affiliations, even though it was created by nation states that are very different and were often hostile to one another in the past.
