Publication 2009.
Summary/Abstract The on going conflict in the provinces of Drafur, western Sudan, are a textbook example of how programmed escalation of violence can go out of control. It is increasingly difficult for both the ever - more divided insurgencies and the government - backed forces to de-escalate the conflict. which has been called with reason "genocide." It will be increasingly difficult after the war to get the pastoralists and the settled agriculturalists to live together in a relatively cooperative way. However, there is a need for the United Nations, member governments, and nongovernmental oraganization (NGOs) to prepare now for post-violence reconstruction and ecologically sound development based on promoting the praceful coexistence of different tribes in Darfur.
