The historic reconciliation between two of the biggest powers of the modern world -the USSR and the PRC- has opened broad vistas for establishing Russian -Chinese cooperation, which is mutually beneficial in the political, trade -economic, cultural, humanitarian, scientific, and technological and production spheres. The resumption of serious contacts in the three latter took place in the mid - 1990s.
