| Summary/Abstract |
The state of the world in 2010 can be summed up in a single word: symbiosis. Chaos and change feed on each other in a phenomenon that mirrors the tendency towards change in today's international strategic landscape. This article attempts to create an overview of the most important features and trends of the situation by looking at shifts in major power relations, the rise of the Asia-Pacific region, geo-strategic upheavals, tension on the Korean peninsula, military security, world economy and China's diplomacy. It asserts that chaos is not necessarily a bad thing.

After three decades of reform and opening up, China's diplomacy displays the following ten features:1. the three interlocked goals of development, sovereignty and responsibility; 2. maintaining "a low profile" while "acknowledging some accomplishments"; 3. a principled, yet restrained stance in pushing for an improved international order. 4.multi-tiered, mutually complementary diplomatic endeavors; 5. four close-knit diplomatic fronts; 6. the intrinsically compatible concepts of "a harmonious society" and "a harmonious world"; 7. the renewed principle of non-intervention; 8. the evolving "people first" concept thinking; 9. guidelines with continuity and innovation; 10. an orderly, gredualist diplomacy diplomatic transition.

| Summary/Abstract |
"Tao Guang Yang Hui" is an important guiding principle proposed by Deng Xiaoping for China's diplomacy in the present-day world. It has a very deep root in our traditional culture and constitutes a strategic principle we must persistently follow throughout the primary stage of socialism. For some 20 years, there have been incomplete and misguided interpretations of "Tao Guang Yang Hui" both at home and abroad. To keep following the low-key approach in our diplomatic work in the 21st century is entirely correct. "Tao Guang Yang Hui" is not outdated and will never be.

| Summary/Abstract |
Exploring how the history of the Fifteen-year War was dealt with in pre-1982 mainland China is an essential step towards understanding the currently explosive Sino-Japanese History Problem; furthermore, this might shed light on various issues in the post-war history of China and Sino-Japanese relations. However, available research on the pre-1982 period is scarce and problematic. Earlier political scientists argue that the history of the war was ruthlessly manipulated by the Chinese Communist Party regime, while some recent studies believe that the war was conveniently ‘forgotten’ as Sino-Japanese friendship was vital for the government of the People's Republic of China. This article aims at providing an accurate and thorough picture of how the history of the Fifteen-year War was positioned in the diplomatic practice of the Chinese Communist Party regime in relation to Japan during the period.
