The first series production Tejas was handed over to the Indian Air Force (IAF) last month. Another Mk1 will be delivered by 31 March 2015 and the IAF will receive eight by 2017, to be able to form ‘Tejas Flight’. Unfortunately, Final Operational Clearance (FOC) is now slated for end of this year and continues the saga of delays that dog what is otherwise a creditable effort and a competent light fighter.
