Summary/Abstract
The Embraer EMB-314 Super TUCANO fills a unique niche in the military aerospace market in that it combines the small airframe of a turboprop trainer with the advanced avoinics and weaponry of more advanced jets. This makes it a very cost-effective trainer that quite easily doubles as a light attack and counter-insurgency aircraft something which helps explain its recent export success, especially in Latin America.

Summary/Abstract
According to the USAF, 90% of all US air combat losses over the last 25 years can be attributed to IR guided missiles. Most combat aircraft carry flares and IR jammers to defeat this threat, but Directed IR Countermeasures (DIRCM) systems are more commonly being. Used in many cases, they are replacing these older systems. As a result over the last decade, the number of DIRCM systems on the market has exploded.
