Summary/Abstract |
Jatropha, a non-edible oil seed yielding plant has been identified by the Government of India to produce biodiesel under National Biodiesel Mission. Failure of phase-I of National Biodiesel Mission and likely failure of phase-II requires critical analysis of policy frameworks related to its long term sustainability. Indian biofuel promotion policies like Biodiesel Purchase Policy and National Biofuel Policy have failed to yield any visible results. No tangible ground work is visible as of now to ensure success of various government plans and policies related to adoption of jatropha biodiesel. It is clearly evident that some serious bottlenecks are delaying the adoption of jatropha biodiesel. Present work identifies important policy bottlenecks like availability of land, non-remunerative pricing policy and state fear relating to loss of revenue in the case of zero duty regimes. This paper attempts to explore and critically analyze present policies and possible options taking into account the recent Indian experiences for successful adoption of jatropha biodiesel.

Summary/Abstract |
The Lebanese Muslim group Hezbollah (Shiite) and the radical Palestinian Hamas (Sunni) organization, both the groups have come to symbolize the very essence of terrorism for so
many in the west and as ideal ‘liberation fighter’ for the Arab World at large. These two groups became infamous in the between 1980s and 1990s especially because of their terrorist act according some thought, have been always hugely backed by Syria and Iran growing influence is now bigger security threat to Israel. Hezbollah’s ambition is Israel’s “obliteration from existence, the liberation of Jerusalem,” wants to establish an Islamic regime in Lebanon and with the Karbala
paradigms to oppose occupier (according to them Israel is occupier).

Summary/Abstract |
The consolidation of the Delhi Sultanate coincided with the Mongol devastation of Transoxiana, Iran and Afghanistan. This paper studies the Persian literature of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries invested as it was in the projection of the court of the Delhi Sultans as the 'sanctuary of Islam', where the Muslim community was safe from the marauding infidel Mongols. The binaries on which the qualities of the accursed Mongols and the monolithic Muslim community were framed ignored the fact that a large number of Sultanate elites and monarchs were of Turkish/Mongol ethnicity or had a history of prior service in their armed contingents. While drawing attention to the narrative strategies deployed by Sultanate chroniclers to obscure the humble frontier origins of its lords and masters, my paper also elaborates on steppe traditions and rituals prevalent in early-fourteenth-century Delhi. All of these underlined the heterogeneity of Muslim Sultanate society and politics in the capital, a complexity that the Persian litterateurs were loath to acknowledge in their records.

Summary/Abstract |
Sardar Patel popularly known as the Iron Man of India, was one of the father of the Republic of India. As a statesman of integration, Sardar Patel accomplished a task which was much more complex and stupendous. His role in the struggle did not end with the independence of India as he was the man who guided the country to become united independent nation. His success was achieved with such a finesse and elegance that it looked like the work of a magician. But the magic was in the personality and reputation of Sardar Patel and his persona had been created through an exemplary leadership over many decades of the struggle for freedom.
