Akhlaghi, Faryar Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract Iran Linguistic Atlas (ILA), funded by the Research Institute for Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT), is a research project for mapping the linguistic diversity of Iran. The project is aimed at recording unified and comparable data from every spoken dialect of Iran’s rural areas and producing self-organized colored maps of this diversity using a specialized software program. Its initial phase began around the mid-1970s in the form of a joint project by the then Iranian Academy of Language and the National Geography Organization. In 2001, the documented data was handed over to the Cultural Heritage Organization, to be saved and expanded. The Iran Linguistic Atlas has now been redefined as an automatic linguistic atlas with the capability of producing self-organizing colored maps according to the operator’s choices. In this article, the ILA, its background and the state of its current phase is introduced. The nature of its data, its earlier and recent field methods, its audiotapes, digital databases and computer databases of phonetic transcriptions are described. In addition, ILA software program is presented and its capability for creating automatic colored maps is discussed thoroughly.

Radicalization in prisons? field research in 25 Spanish prisons / Trujillo, Humberto M; Jordan, Javier; Gutierrez, Jose Antonio; Gonzalez-Cabrera, Joaquin   Journal Article
Jordan, Javier Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Publication 2009.
Summary/Abstract This article has two principal objectives: (1) to study the behavioral dimensions of Muslim prisoners which predict their Islamist radicalism and (2) to study whether the behavior manifested by them is higher in prisons with a greater concentration of Muslims and a higher presence of prisoners convicted for Islamist terrorism than in prisons with fewer Muslims and no convicted Islamist terrorists. We conclude that some Spanish prisons may provide favorable social environments for jihadist radicalism and that the questionnaire utilized is a useful diagnostic tool for evaluating the magnitude of this phenomenon.

Research of heat metering development situation and application effect evaluation model in China / Yuan, Shanshan; Xu, Wei ; Liu, Yan   Journal Article
Xu, Wei Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract In spite of over 10 years of heat metering promotion in China, there still lays a certain gap between actual application and expectation. In this paper, the author conducts a comprehensive carding of China's current situation of heat metering in the aspects of policy, price, application area, technical roadmap, product quality and so on. An application effect evaluation model is established based on the geometric mean weights method. Assignments and weighs of factors in the model are achieved via multi-agent wide range of questionnaires. Comparisons are made among model results, results published by Liu Xin and the results released from the Ministry of Housing and Urban–Rural Development of the People's Republic of China (MOHURD), which proves rationality and high accuracy of the model established in this paper. Evaluation results show that application of heat metering in 2012 requires improvement with the score pegged at 60.7. It is suggested that policy support from national government should be strengthened, the impact of policies released by provincial government be curbed and heat metering pricing be increasingly reasonable. Application conditions of different metering techniques routes need to be clarified and relevant standards need to be revised to improve the operation.
