This article examines the basic approaches China uses in its energy diplomacy on the African continent, the scale of its energy-related cooperation with Africa's main oil-producing countries, and its prospects. According to the author's forecast, Africa is to become one of China's principal hydrocarbon suppliers, and Chinese oil companies will be investing in oil and gas deposit development in Aftica.
