Summary/Abstract On 23 August 1939, Foreign Minister of Germany Joachim von Ribbentrop arrived to Moscow. After intensive talks that went well into the small hours of August 24 the Soviet Union and Germany signed a non-aggression treaty also known as the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact by the names of the ministers who signed it as well as a secret protocol "on the delimitation of spheres of mutual interests in Eastern Europe.
