Summary/Abstract On January 21-28, 2016, the 12th Congress of the ruling Communist Party of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (CPV) took place in Hanoi. This important event in the public and political life of that country was the topic of a round-table discussion organized by the Center for Vietnam and ASEAN Studies at the Institute for Far Eastern Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, held on February 25, 2016. About one hundred scholars of Vietnam and experts on Russian foreign policy, scholars from various research centers of Russia, deputies to the State Duma [parliament] of the Russian Federation, officials of the RF Foreign Ministry and other government agencies, representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Embassy of Vietnam to the RF, and Russia's Trade Mission in Vietnam, public organizations and business circles, Russian and Vietnamese mass media, and students and postgraduates of Moscow higher educational institutions attended the function.

Summary/Abstract The twentieth summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is to be held on Vladivostok's Russky Island on September 8-9. 2012. The technical problems of preparing for the summit, covered in detail in the Russian media, all but eclipsed the basic content of the upcoming forum in the eyes of the public: the actual state of affairs in APEC; its opportunities, challenges, and outlook; and the benefits that might accrue to Russia if she follows the right policy.

Moscow, Moscow State Institute (University) of International Relations, 2010, 444 pages) on Greater East Asia (GEA) and the numerous changes taking place in this macroregion is a notable event in Russian political science. The professors and lecturers at the Moscow State Institute (University) of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation that participated in this collective work called it a "research and education handbook." The book therefore aims to combine strict academic approaches and criteria with new ideas and readability. One should say at once that the book has largely attained its goal - so much so that not just students and experts will find it interesting to read.

Summary/Abstract On June 25, 2014, a round-table discussion took place at the Center for Vietnam and ASEAN Studies at the RAS Institute for Far Eastern Studies (the RAS IFES) within the framework of joint research of the Russian Humanitarian Scientific Foundation and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences on the subject "Ways to Strengthen Security and Cooperation in East Asia. Heads and experts of different sections of the RAS IFES took part in the discussion whose moderatorwas V. Mazyrin, D.Sc. (Econ), head of the Center for Vietnam and ASEAN Studies and head of the project.
