The authors show, on the basis of an analysis of the ongoing reform in the Russian air defense system, its history and current development trends, and the demands made on it, the conditions and ways in which an integrated air defense system can be created in Russia within the framework of the existing institutional elements such as the air defense forces and fighter arm of the Air Force, army air defense, electronic warfare units, and the naval air defense forces.
