Korean peninsula: approaching the danger line / Zhebin, A   Journal Article
Zhebin, A Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Publication 2011.
Summary/Abstract Analyzing the development of the situation on the Korean Peninsula in 2010, the author of this article arrives to the conclusion that the growing tension in this region has been caused mainly by the course pursued by the Republic of Korea and the United States supporting it to resolve the nuclear and other aspects of the Korean problem by liquidating the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) as a sovereign state. In his view, the reasons for the exacerbation of the confrontation in Korea cannot be perceived outside the context of the situation and development prospects of the rather contradictory relations between the PRC and the U.S.A., which are the main sponsors and allies of the two Korean states, and rivalry between them definitely predominates over the attempts to establish partnership.
