After briefly surveying the history of the discipline of economics Nicolas Laos highlights the attempts of successive practitioners of the science to define laws of human behaviour and market processes. He then points out the weaknesses and fallacies of some socioeconomic laws and as a corrective formulates a theory of sustainable creativity.
