The authors argue persuasively for close incorporation of army aviation into the Land Forces with the status of an independent arm of the service. They outline the principal tasks to be assumed by the staff of the Land Forces' army aviation commander, and illustrate their arguments with the advantages to be derived from this reorganization.

Summary/Abstract
This article proposes a methodology for assessing the contribution of a grouping of electronic warfare (EW) forces and assets to the reduction of enemy combat capabilities. This methodology is a tool for translating the combat capabilities of EW formations to calculated ammunition. The methodology will make it possible to expand the scope of the use of tactical EW teams when planning transactions (combat operations).

The author discusses the underlying disparities between the current status of the missile and artillery forces, the theory and practice of their employment, and the general trends in military art evolution, argues for the need of a comprehensive approach to be applied to assessing the combat capabilities of this arm of the service, and puts forth a key idea of a scientific and methodological mechanism to be developed for a comprehensive assessment of the arm's combat capabilities as a basis for selecting the most rational method of combat employment of missile and artillery forces in an operation or an operational assignment in a specific situation.
