The paper goes over major points of judging the efficiency of combat employment of air defense troops in interservice and combined-arms formations and elucidates the basic operational-tactical, methodological and method elements of the estimation process. Besides, the paper outlines an approach to forming the target function of efficiency estimates in the combat employment of air defense troops that best conforms to the vector of the phenomenon under examination.
