This paper analyzes actions by the US-led coalition to liberate Iraqi Mosul from terrorists, which took an incongruously heavy toll in civilian lives and destruction of the city infrastructure. Stemming from the practice of combat actions in Syria and Iraq, it offers certain recommendations on organizing an engagement in urban conditions.
