Patnaik, Sanghamitra Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract The global security system is very much endangered by a new challenge from non-state actors like ISIS with membership from different countries. The post-9/11 world compelled United States of America to review its security system. The US counterterrorism efforts in the Af-Pak region and the terror attacks on Indian cities brought India and the US to join hands to work out strategies for countering terrorism. The need of the hour is to build up confidence and trust in each other and readjust their perspectives on the threat of terrorism by understanding various causes of the development of religious radicalism.

Misreading Iran’s elections: Iranian infighting and American narcissism / Hakakian, Roya   Journal Article
Hakakian, Roya Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Publication 2013.
Summary/Abstract Iran's presidential election of June 14th is being hailed as a political opening. The landslide victory of Hassan Rouhani, who had called for moderation in foreign and domestic policies, for a more open state news media, and for engagement with the West regarding Tehran's nuclear program, is being seen as something unique in the history of Iran's Islamic Republic. Biographical details about the new president abound, as evidence of his distinctness. But the relevance or significance of these facts, and that of his office of the president altogether, is entirely suspect given the thirty-four-year history of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
