Summary/Abstract |
Apparently, in the existing global scenario of multilateralism and rapid transformation of the structural identity of nations, regional or sub-regional groupings are no longer a matter of selection, but the need of the hour. In addition to this, the swift advancement of communication facilities, shortening of distance and transforming of borders into gateways is the new occurrence everywhere. In the last decade, India has exposed dedicated attention in the formation of sub-regional alignments. Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) is a prominent example of it.
