Publication 2013.
Summary/Abstract Competition to gain allies and regain one`s status quo in the new international milieu became the norm for many countries in the post bipolar world. The Middle East was no exception for geopolitical competition among influential actors as oil, trade routes and geographical location paved the way for countries trying to regain or preserve their hegemony in the region. Hence, the end of the Cold War phase and the coming of a new world order led many regional players to pursue their national interests in the region which includes Russia and Turkey. In the playoff among countries in the Middle East, a prerequisite is effectively understanding the factors that motivate Russia`s and Turkey`s foreign policy behavior in the Middle East which is an influential player in the region due to its geographical location and historical linkages. It has become a contested zone for Russia and Turkey even as the US, China and Europe have begun significant roles in the region.

Publication 2014.
Summary/Abstract Defence cooperation has been the major plank in the bilateral relations between India and Russia. It can be argued that the relations between the two countries ?ourished due to the common threat perceptions and the international milieu during the Cold War period. It can also be stated that the current scenario in the strategic partnership between the Kremlin and Delhi has remained strong due to the geo- political imperatives, shared security concerns and mutual benefits which mostly emerged through strong defence ties.

Ukraine imbroglio: does it impact India? / Rekha, Chandra   Article
Rekha, Chandra Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract The recent developments in Ukraine have once again brought the region to a critical juncture in international affairs. What started as anti-government protests soon transformed into intense ethno-political mobilisation with the demand for secession becoming contagious in eastern Ukraine. While analysts are busy examining the triggers for the intense protests, the need of the hour is to evaluate the failure of Kiev to address the underlying factors that have fostered the uprising of ethnic groups in Ukraine since its independence post Soviet disintegration in 1991.
