Summary/Abstract
WASHINGTON'S FOREIGN POLICY has played and continues to play one of the main roles in the international political and military crises in Ukraine, in the way they began and are unfolding. The American ruling circles spent twenty-five post-Soviet years tightening their grip on Ukraine and its people through a network of institutions ranging from the oligarchs with money in Western banks and numerous NGOs to rigidly controlled political parties and neo-fascist fighters - thrown into action at the opportune moment to bring a pro-American regime to power.

Summary/Abstract
CRIMEA WAS UNIFIED with Russia so fast that the U.S. intelligence community was caught unawares. According to the normally well-informed The Wall Street Journal, "the Obama administration is 'very nervous,' says a person close to the discussions. 'This is uncharted territory'."1 This was more than a one-time failure to predict what the Russian special services had been planning: it was a huge political flop of American strategy in Ukraine. Russia demonstrated that the degree of its readiness to stand opposed to any challenges of the West was unprecedented since the end of the Cold War, something what the United States did not expect.

Summary/Abstract
F. William Engdahl's interview with the International Affairs journal is extremely interesting: the prominent Western political scientist and economist whose views and opinions leave him no hope of gaining popularity with the mainstream media in the West speaks about the realities of the contemporary world gripped by a crisis of an unprecedented scope and vehemence which added edge to social, ethnic and international conflicts. The scope and vehemence alone are enough to realize that the world is moving toward deep-cutting and very painful transformations in the social sphere, world economic relations and the system of international relations.
