The article looks at the advances in the command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) systems, an integrated communication systems in the battespaces. Topics discussed include importance of distributed control, centralised command, and decentralised execution in battlefields, development of skills that are integrating actionable human-terrain knowledge into C4I systems, and role of information technology in changing the basic nature of warfare.
