The quickened pace of defence acquisitions could finally see a key shortcoming with regards to the modernisation of the Indian Army infantry soldier being tackled. Efforts to obtain high quality bullet proof jackets and helmets for soldiers, which have been stalled for quite some time now, are picking up pace.
