Summary/Abstract In this paper the author will discuss the change to submarine navigatprs' training in the RN over the past 20 years and argue that the use of simulators in navigation training has had a beneficial effect. Additionally, if training is intelligently designed to account for their use then standars may not only be maintained but also improved.
