Summary/Abstract The United States (US) has reaffirmed its commitment to sell aircraft carrier related technologies to India. If recent events are any indication, the US is willing to offer some of its advanced technologies including Electro Magnetic Launch System (EMALS) catapult and Advanced Arresting Gears (AAG) for the Indian Navy’s future aircraft carrier (IAC-2), tentatively christened Vishal. Two major naval events in New Delhi last month emphasised on these advanced technologies and how they can set an unprecedented bilateral collaboration between India and the US. The Naval Aviation seminar saw the participation of the US company General Atomics, the manufacturer of EMALS and AAG; and secondly, a talk by a well-known US strategic analyst, Ashley J. Tellis focussing on Washington’s interest to help India develop next generation aircraft carriers.
