The authors discuss the importance of observability reduction for improving materiel protection from enemy reconnaissance and high-precision weapons, and also address the need for a uniform policy to be followed in military technology and coordination of efforts to develop techniques for reducing observability and to use low-observability technology (LOT) and low-observability (stealth) military equipment.
