It is true to a great extent where religion spread throughout South and East Asia along the trading routes. Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand embraced Hinduism, while Buddhism flourished in Japan, Vietnam, Korea and China and other countries such as Burma, Cambodia and Thailand too.

New Delhi’s economic policy pursues a dynamic interaction with other countries deepening its commitment towards its goals to deepen and secure national economy, political security and regional integration. ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) in this stance has been a crucial link towards providing regional cooperation among member nations and India. There is little doubt over China’s already grown influence in the South Asia and Asia- Pacific region with it showcasing its hard power status politically and militarily.

However recent trends suggests a shift in war paradigm wherein war being defined on sea or sea dispute especially disputes between China and its east Asian neighbours primarily Vietnam, Philippines and Vietnam along with other powers making its presence felt to gain a firsthand importance.

The ‘One China Policy’ has played a pivotal role in shaping the Sino-U.S official relations since the end of Chinese Civil war in 1949. Moreover it is a fundamental bedrock in shaping the contours of Chinese foreign policy and diplomacy. Therefore it becomes a mandatory recognition on the part of countries and nations worldwide to recognize Peoples Republic of China (PRC) as being ‘One China’ and Taiwan- Republic of China (ROC), merely being a part of it.
