Summary/Abstract |
The author analyzes the contents and political outcomes of the 7th Congress of the ruling Workers' Party of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), which took place in Pyongyang May 6-9, 2016. The author concludes that the congress did not bring any principal changes into the country's domestic and foreign policies pursued during the past decades. It reaffirmed the goals of building socialism, strengthening the nuclear forces of containment, and gaining the status of a de facto nuclear power.
