The author suggests a methodological approach to options for developing troop armament system development. The essence of this approach is to validate the main factors determining the types of arms and requirements for the system; to build a mathematical model of the armament system's operation involving a contemporary mathematical apparatus; to optimize vectors (make decisions with multiple criteria) for a rational version of the armament system.
