Summary/Abstract The Garhwal Himalaya of Uttarakhand is rich in water resource. Nearly 100 cm to 200 cm of rainfall during summer monsoon season, along with cool temperature and 20 cm to 25 cm rainfall and snowfall during the winter season make the region rich in terms of water resource in the form of glaciers, natural lakes, springs and rivers and these water resources enrich the different areas of Garhwal Himalaya.
