India and Russia have close, consistent and cordial relations, which have been sustained for decades, without conflict of interest. This is all the more evident from the fact that when Vladimir Putin took over the presidency of Russia two decades back, both India and Russia signed ‘Declaration of Strategic Partnership’ in October 2000 during his visit to India.
