The change in Maldives is unprecedented and historic. Yameen had all the power the judiciary, the police, the media, the security forces under him, yet he lost the election. It was being expected that he would rig the election and would make all ends meet to win the election. A police raid was also orchestrated on Solih’s main campaign office the night before the election. The stage almost seemed set in a manner that Yameen would muzzle his way to re-election.
