In the forgoing analysis an attempt has been made to interrogate a popular liberal model of negotiating diversity- multicultural accommodation. Drawing on the example of Asia especially Thailand, the paper argues that the merit of liberal multicultural accommodation notwithstanding, mere mimicking of it in the context of ASEAN countries is not enough until and unless it is customized in accordance with the South East Asian context.
