Summary/Abstract Subhash Chandra Bose (1897-1945), who is popularly known as Netaji, contributed enormously in India’s freedom movement against the British colonial forces. He was a true freedom fighter whose enduring commitment towards national independence made him a nationalist hero in the eyes of ordinary peoples. He was born into a wealthiest family, but his nationalistic temperaments always kept him away from the comfort and lavish life.
