Summary/Abstract IT IS TEN YEARS now since a Customs Union was established within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC): common systems of tariff and non-tariff regulation took effect on January 1, 2010, and a Customs Code that provided for the abolition of customs clearance of goods in mutual trade between Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia came into force on July 1, 2010. The entry into force of these key agreements formalized the common customs territory of the three states.

Summary/Abstract NOVEMBER 2021 marks the 10-year anniversary of the decision to establish the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).1 A month before this landmark event, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an article in the newspaper Izvestia, described the Eurasian integration project as a "milestone not only for our three countries, but for all countries in the post-Soviet space" [3]. That idea was put into practice: Armenia and Kyrgyzstan joined the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) as full-fledged members in 2015, Moldova received EAEU observer status in 2018, and Uzbekistan did in 2020.

Summary/Abstract The author examines the potential influence of the Silk Road Economic Belt (SREB) project on the situation in the Central Asian Region (SAR) and adjacent territories in terms of their security and socioeconomic stability. It is noted that along with its political and economic benefits, the One Belt, One Road project and the execution of its SREB subproject is fraught with a number of risks, not only for partner countries but for China itself.
