Summary/Abstract COVID-19 commonly abbreviated for the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is a declared pandemic that has stormed into more than 187 countries and territories globally. The outbreak was first identified in Wuhan, China in early December 2019. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak a ‘Public health Emergency of International Concern’ on 30th January 2020 and further as a pandemic on 11th March 2020.

India despite being a victim of illegal cross border migration, more recently, has come up with Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in 2019, which has reflected India’s willingness to offer citizenship to the immigrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh belonging to the minority community.
