West Asia and North Africa (WANA) region became the ground for the fierce struggle between Saudi Arabia and Iran for regional hegemony. The significant cause for the conflict is the religious differences because Iran is mostly Shia Muslim while Saudi Arab considers itself as the leading power of the Sunni Muslim world.
