India’s proactiveness in being a global provider of healthcare essentials at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic illustrated a foreign policy direction aimed at hefting its soft power credentials. The importance granted to the Latin America and Caribbean region is of special interest given geostrategic considerations, the need to diversify economic relations and diasporic connection.
