Nepal is a small land-locked country with an area of 147,181 square kilometres, which is mostly mountainous and hilly, except for the southern lowland Terai region, bordering the Tibetan region of China and the Himalayas in the north and India in the south, east and west. Hence, Nepal is a small mountainous country locked between the two Asian economic giants, China and India.
