Evolution of Russia's foreign policy doctrine / Bogaturov, A. ; Bobrov, A. ; Lebedeva, O.   Journal Article
A. Bogaturov, O. Lebedeva, A. Bobrov Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract ACCORDING to many of our international relations experts, a presidential decree to approve a new edition of the Foreign Policy Concept of Russia will be one of the most significant developments of 2022. It will be the sixth doctrinal document in our country's recent history: Previous versions of the key diplomatic "manifesto" were issued in 1993, 2000, 2008, 2013, and 2016. The media treat them as routine events when in fact they offer us a unique opportunity to trace all transformations in the foreign policy thinking of the country's leaders and to analyze the events and trends of the last 30 years. The response to the latter has determined the nature and substance of the conceptual foundations of Russia's foreign policy. More than 30 years have passed since the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991. The new generation that grew up, studied at, and graduated from institutions of higher education knows next to nothing about the Soviet superpower, bipolar confrontation, socialist internationalism, and games with "inter-imperialist" contradictions. The system of Russia's foreign policy priorities has been broken, reestablished, and altered several

Great patriotic war in exhibits of the state museum of political history of russia : 2020-2021 / Boreyko, A.   Journal Article
Boreyko, A. Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR, which started 80 years ago, remains both a relevant and painful topic for our country. Russians' interest in those events is supported by numerous works of research and journalism, as well as projects that allow people to trace the fate of their relatives on the battlefields of that war. However, manipulations of public opinion at the global level that seek to belittle the role of our country in the victory over the Axis powers are distorting historical memory and leading to attempts to revise the outcomes of World War II.

Interview with patriarch porfirije of Serbia / Porfirije, Patriarch   Journal Article
Porfirije, Patriarch Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract Patriarch Porfirije: It is an exceptional honor for me to be able to communicate with the readers of your well-known and influential journal. I am very grateful. I consider it my duty to take this opportunity to remind your readers of the many centuries of ties between Russia and the Serbian Church - and the church is nothing other than the entire baptized people of God. I won't speak either of the Middle Ages or of the era of Count Sava Vladislavich Raguzinsky or even of the 20th century in general - a century that was marked, on the one hand, by suffering and, on the other, by the strengthening of our fraternal relations after the arrival of Russian refugees in Serbia and in our other lands. We can see that over the first two decades of the third millennium, our economic and political ties have become even stronger. And our spiritual ties have, of course, grown much stronger than ever before, I would say.

Russian empire and the Western allies in world war i: from attempts at military isolation to participation in the february 1917 coup / Multatuli, P   Journal Article
Multatuli, P Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract BY THE start of 1914, Russian political, military, and diplomatic circles considered the situation in Europe extremely precarious. Emperor Nicholas II shared that view. The Balkans continued to be the most sensitive issue in the international situation. An attempt by German leaders to subjugate the Ottoman Army by dispatching its military mission there in November 1913 under General Liman von Sanders, whom the Sultan appointed inspector-general of the Ottoman Army and commander of the Turkish First Army Corps in Constantinople, failed due to Russia's tough position.

Russia-US relations under joe biden: hopes and reality / Karpovich, O. ; Grishanov, A.   Journal Article
Grishanov, A. Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract A YEAR ago, the 46th US president stirred up diametrically opposed emotions and expectations in the unprecedentedly polarized and divided US. Supporters and fellow Democrats viewed the new president as an incredibly experienced leader who would consolidate the nation and return it to leading positions in the community of nations aligned with the values of the "collective West." Biden's critics and opponents who sympathized with Donald Trump spoke of the new president as an anachronism who could not make a decision on his own and was controlled by party functionaries. Opinion in the rest of the world was similarly divided. Today, however, we can say that, as usual, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Scylla and charybdis: the self-determination of peoples versus the territorial integrity of states / Kagramanov, A   Journal Article
Kagramanov, A Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract LIKE Odysseus, who fell into the clutches of Scylla after escaping the whirlpool Charybdis, countries that have escaped the threat of losing territory as a result of foreign invasion are facing the threat of disintegration from within. The ancient epic by the great Homer about the adventures of the hero Odysseus, who finds himself between a rock and a hard place, involuntarily comes to mind when considering the perennial international legal dilemma about the relationship between the principle of the territorial integrity of states and the right of peoples and nations to self-determination.

Soviet peacemaking during the great patriotic war and its reflection in cultural diplomacy today / Olevich, V   Journal Article
Olevich, V Journal Article
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Summary/Abstract THE Great Patriotic War has left its mark on the collective memory of all peoples of the former Soviet Union, all member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and representatives of various ethnic and religious groups living in countries with different political, economic, and social systems. In recent years, the desire to preserve the memory of wartime events and of the Soviet people's heroic efforts that led to the Great Victory has encountered active resistance from Western revisionists seeking to rewrite history to suit the current anti-Russian ideological narrative. The position of Western revisionists often gets a positive response and support from representatives of the former republics of the Soviet Union and countries of the Eastern bloc.
