Summary/Abstract India and Afghanistan relationship has based on historical, economic and cultural links. In recent past before the re-emergence of Taliban, India-Afghanistan relations have been more strengthened by the Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) signed by both the countries in October 2011. This SPA between the two countries provides for assistance to rebuild Afghanistan’s infrastructure and institutions. It has further provides education and technical assistance to re-build indigenous Afghan capacity in different areas, inclusive process of peace and reconciliation, providing duty free access to the Indian market, encouraging investment in natural resources and advocating the need for a sustained and long-term assurance to Afghanistan. But, on the day of August 15, 2021 in which Taliban has captured the capital of Afghanistan’s Kabul after almost two decades, as the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ashraf Ghani left the country and took the political asylum in United Arab Emirate (UAE).
